Why Clstr is organised into Guilds and Circles

Most student communities are one big undifferentiated room. A thousand people, no structure, no reason to talk to anyone outside your immediate circle. Within two meetups, it fragments back into the same campus cliques it was supposed to break.

Clstr avoids this with two equal tracks: Guilds for skill and collaboration, and Circles for pure interest and belonging. You pick one or two when you join. Most members end up in both.

The five Guilds: where skills meet

Guilds are where you find people who want to build, make, and grow things together.

• Build - The engineering and product guild. Developers, founders, and anyone who wants to ship software. If you have a project that needs a technical co-founder, this is your room.
• Design - Visual design, UI/UX, illustration, motion. The people who make things look like they matter. If your project keeps dying at the "ugly prototype" stage, you need this guild.
• Create - Content, writing, video, photography, and storytelling. The people who give a community its voice - and who every early-stage project needs to be heard.
• Hustle - Marketing, sales, community, and growth. The people who believe a great product without distribution is just a hobby. If you can talk, sell, or organise, start here.
• Grow - Careers, internships, and long-term trajectory. Interviews, portfolios, mentorship, and the conversations that connect your college years to your first job.

Guilds are where the two-college collaboration rule lives: when teams form in a Guild or on CollabHub, they must span at least two colleges. It is the single rule that keeps projects honest.

The Circles: where people belong

Circles are lighter by design. No projects, no deliverables - just shared interest, repeated hangouts, and the slow trust that comes from seeing the same faces.

• Foodies - The city's best messes, road-side stalls and hidden cafés, discovered together.
• Music - Listeners, players and performers. Jam sessions and gigs, from RK Beach to college festivals.
• Sports - Cricket on Sundays, football in the evening, badminton courts that someone always has a booking for.
• Travel - Weekend trips to Araku, Borra Caves, Yarada and the places within reach of a student budget.
• Beach Crew - The most Vizag thing on the list. Sunset walks, volleyball, and the city's best free therapy: the sea.
• New to Vizag - For outstation students who moved here from somewhere else and want the city to stop feeling unfamiliar.

Circles rotate, too. If a group of students keeps asking for something - gaming, cinema, poetry - a new Circle can be born from real demand. Nothing is fixed forever.

Guild, Circle, or both?

A quick decision guide:

• You have a project, want one, or want a career skill → pick one Guild.
• You are lonely, new to the city, or just want weekends that do not involve staring at a hostel ceiling → pick one Circle.
• You want the full experience → pick one of each. Most members end up here anyway.

One warning: do not join five things. The community works when you go deep in one or two rooms. Depth is what turns members into friends.

What happens inside a Guild, practically

Guilds run on a simple monthly rhythm:

1. Guild meetups - Small, in-person working sessions. People bring their actual projects and get real feedback - not slides.
2. CollabHub posts - Between meetups, members post what they are building and what they need. Teams form in the open.
3. Demo moments - At open events, Guilds present what they shipped. This is the accountability loop that keeps projects alive.

There is no ladder to climb inside a Guild. No "leader" titles, no point systems, no hierarchy games. You get value by contributing, not by performing for a committee.

One rule that never bends

Everything in Clstr - Guilds, Circles, events - is verified with a student ID. That is what keeps the rooms safe and the trust high. Every stranger you meet at a Guild meetup is a real student from a real college, with the same ID requirements you passed.
